What I learned from Swan in 2020

Dec 24, 2020

One of the special things about oracle cards is that sometimes there are specific cards that come to you again and again.

This year, one card which came to me frequently was Swan.

For a few weeks in a row I would shuffle my Wild Unknown Animal Spirit deck, created by Kim Krans, and out Swan would come, with her gorgeous feathers, long neck, and strong beak.

She came to me when I was creating a podcast episode about the story of "The Ugly Duckling" and my journey of realizing...

What I learned from reading my 2020 journal

Dec 23, 2020

A couple days ago, on the winter solstice, I did a ritual where I reviewed this past year and set intentions for the coming year.

I sat in the coziest corner of my room. Diffused Rosemary essential oil. Drank a luscious hot cacao drink, and sank deeply into the process.

During this ritual, I skimmed through my 2020 journal to help me remember who I was this year.

This is a big, super thick, spiral bound notebook that holds notes from every ritual, ceremony, or oracle card reading I...

Solstice reflection questions

Dec 21, 2020

Today is the waxing quarter moon AND the solstice. It's the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere, and the first day of summer in the southern hemisphere.

This is a big turning point in the seasons of the year, and the perfect day to check in with who you have been, who you are now, and who you are becoming.

The following reflection questions will help you set your internal compass for the coming season.

Here are today's solstice reflection questions to...

A self-care recommendation for you!

Dec 20, 2020

Yesterday, we talked about Frog and the important message Frog had for us about self-care.

I strongly believe doing self-care is a great way to free your voice.

When you care for yourself authentically, in a way that makes you feel truly loved and cared for, it can put you in touch with your authentic thoughts, feelings, and ideas.

It can also calm your anxiety so you can then express those same thoughts, feelings, and ideas in your writing.

Today, I have a...

What Frog Told Me Today

Dec 19, 2020

I picked an oracle card for our community today from Kim Krans's "The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Deck & Guidebook". We got Frog!

"No matter how 'earthly' the Frog becomes, its need for cleansing and rejuvenation [water] is regular. Frogs tend to become overworked and undernourished, so it's vital that such sensitive creatures practice self-care.

When out of balance: depleted, running on empty

To bring into balance: lake, river, ocean, or bathhouse" - Kim Krans

As I sit with Frog I...

What part of yourself wants to come out of hiding?

Dec 16, 2020

Here's the thing about writing with a Wildly Authentic voice: There are often authentic pieces of ourselves that are easy to show in our writing and other pieces of ourselves that aren't so easy to show.

For example, I love writing from the depths of my being. I love sharing my heart and my emotions. I also enjoy teaching and inspiring you through the big realizations I have. This work feels serious and important to me.

However, in my personal life I also LOVE laughing and...

Time for vacation and a deep creative inhale

Nov 26, 2020

Hello my lovely, wonderful readers!

It has been such a pleasure writing daily emails to you. I started this practice on September 28, and I've LOVED it. Writing to you is the best part of my day.

I'm going on a break for the next week and a half. I'll be walking, watching movies, drinking tea, and reading book. This will be a delicious creative inhale.

I will be back with our daily emails on Tuesday December 8, the day after the Full Moon.

Hi, I'm Emma Veritas!

I'm a writer,...

Return home to yourself

Did you know I have a podcast?!

Every couple weeks my amazing friend, Caitlin Bosshart, and I publish an episode of Full Heart Free Voice Podcast, where we talk about our current book choice, Women Who Run With the Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, dive deep into the challenges of being wildly authentic, and talk about how to live a multi-passionate creative life.

This week we published an episode I think you'll enjoy!

This episode focuses on the initiatory process of...

I was taught my voice was annoying. Now I know...

Nov 24, 2020

One of the reasons I am so passionate about helping you become a woman who writes is that I wholeheartedly believe the world will be better when your voice is in it.

I don't know about you, but when I was growing up I was taught my voice was a nuisance.

I heard a lot about how I talked too much, laughed too loud, asked too many questions, needed too much help, cried too much....and on and on and on.

The basic message was - "Hey you, your voice is a big annoyance."

As part of my...

8 of the best benefits of blogging

Nov 23, 2020

Blogging is my favorite kind of writing craft. I love writing short pieces, publishing them online, and connecting with you. Besides being fun to do, there are so many benefits to blogging, especially when you want to write authentically and inspire others.

Here are 8 of the best benefits of blogging:

#1 Self-Discovery: Writing your blog can help you discover who you are, what you think, and how you feel. As you write, you'll have a million aha moments  where you'll say, "Ooohhh,...
